Making scamming a bad business
Scams keep coming because they pay. We want to get to a point where they don't.
Notch builds and runs its own digital safety products.
See what we buildAlmost everything in security was built for IT departments first and handed down to everyone else later. The vocabulary, the dashboards, the assumption that you already know what a breach is. We start from the other end: a person with a phone, a laptop, a couple hundred accounts, and no reason to have learned any of this.
Our products are mostly mobile apps. The problem doesn’t stop at the phone, though. It’s on the laptop, in the browser, and in the accounts people share with their families, and that’s where we’re headed next.
A digital safety app for your phone.
Privable shows a person what’s putting them at risk and gives them a tool to handle it. A password sitting in an old data leak. A phishing page about to open in their browser. A setting left wide open on their phone.
It’s built for people who want to be safe online and don’t know where to start, which in our experience is most people. There’s nothing to configure and no jargon to get past. Someone who has never once thought about security can open it and get through the first real fixes the same afternoon.
Families are part of the design. The people most likely to lose money to a scam are often the least likely to install a security app on their own, so Privable is built to be set up for a parent as easily as for yourself.
Online crime cost people in the United States $20.9 billion in 2025, up from $4.2 billion five years earlier. Most of it traces back to the same handful of things: a password that leaked years ago and never got changed, a link that looked real, an account nobody ever locked down. All of that is fixable. The problem is that the fixes sit scattered across a dozen separate tools, written for people who already understand them.
Everything starts with research. We study the scams Americans are getting right now and talk to people about how they got caught. What we hear decides what we build — if a feature doesn’t fix a problem someone told us about, it doesn’t go in.
A small remote team designs and builds our products. We work in small steps and test every change on real devices before it reaches yours.
Privable is available in the United States and other countries. You can subscribe through the App Store or right on our website. Either way you get the same app, and the same people answer if you ever write to support.
We collect the minimum the product needs, and the Privacy Policy spells out exactly what that is. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Every vendor that touches user data is reviewed before we work with them, and all of them are named in the policy.
We don’t sell personal information. That is exactly the opposite of what we want to build.
Notch Limited is a private company that builds and runs its own products. We’re not for hire: no client work, no white-label, no agency arm.
The team is small and works remotely — mobile engineers, product and brand people, and researchers who spend their days reading breach data and scam reports so that the product itself can stay simple.
We own what we build and we intend to still be running it in ten years. That shapes most of what we say yes to.
Values and ideas helping us build a new era of digital safety
Scams keep coming because they pay. We want to get to a point where they don't.
You don't need any tech background. Privable talks to you in plain words and shows you exactly what to do.
We'll never use fear to get your attention. Just the facts: what we found and what to do about it.
We'd rather give you one thing that works than five that almost work.
Scams change fast, and yesterday's tools miss the new ones. So Privable runs on the newest technology out there — and we keep it that way.
We look for people who can own a piece of the product from beginning to end. Most decisions here are made by whoever sits closest to the work, which only holds together if that person has the full picture and is trusted with it.
Everyone works remotely. If none of these fit and you still think you belong here, write anyway. We read everything that comes in.
